Cleveland National Art Awards
#40 Do - I was very lucky to attend the preview of The Cleveland National Art Awards exhibition at the Otago Art Society tonight. So great to see the 361 fabulous pieces of work in the competition and spotted many I would love to take home (the pieces are for sale so it is possible!) The Otago Art Society is upstairs in the Dunedin Railway Station, remember to look up at the beautiful pressed tin ceiling. The Society was established in 1876, the first art society in New Zealand, and aims to 'promote interest in the study of and practice in the Fine and Applied Arts in Otago' The art awards are sponsored by the Cleveland Charitable Foundation, which was set up by local philanthropist Les Cleveland to promote art, music and conservation. He was known as Mr Daffodil after donating over 2 million daffodil bulbs to Dunedin public spaces ❤️
