Orokonui Challenge

#43 Do - Today was the Orokonui Challenge! On a wet and windy day, it was perfectly described as a challenge, but for a fantastic cause, this 18.5km cross-country run through stunning scenery was to raise money to support the takahē and kaka conservation work at the Orokonui Ecosanctuary. Money raised will fund nutritious food pellets to supplement the birds natural food sources. The beaches (especially Canoe Beach where my leap took place!) and Robin Valley Track were so beautiful. A wee add on - I forgot to mention that it was so well organised, I was especially grateful to the volunteers who were out in the cold helping direct us, provide water and jetplanes - amazing
