#53 Do - I love watching films, especially from the 1930s, 40s and 50s - so much elegance and history. Tonight I saw the 1939 film The Women (fun film on New York society women) at the Dunedin Film Society. I felt really lucky to discover the Film Society last year. It's non-profit, run by volunteers, and for 70 years has brought international, documentary, classic and NZ films to local members - open to anyone who is keen on film! At some screenings, a guest speaker introduces the film, tonight it was great to hear Hilary Radner (Professor of Film and Media Studies from Otago University) speak about The Women. Interesting fact for this film, is every cast member seen (135 characters and the dogs and horses) were female!
