Regent Theatre 24 Hour Book Sale

#84 Buy - books! At the Regent Theatre 24 hour book sale. A great cause, as all proceeds go to the Otago Theatre Trust which owns the theatre. This year the money raised will be for a new waterfall curtain for the stage. The sale has been running annually since 1979 and is apparently the largest secondhand book sale in the country. Many months are spent getting the donated books organised and up to 50 volunteers help make it happen. With live music (Oxo Cubans while I was there) and a chance to be on the stage and in the basement of the theatre, it was fun to hunt out some historic NZ books today. Although I didn't end up buying all of these, it was great to find such a good selection
