Locally owned by Vinh Le, he arrived in Australia in the 1990s and worked as a machinist in a denim factory when the locally manufactured garment industry was in full swing. Now he is one of few left, he opened the Brunswick factory in 1997, producing for many Australian fashion brands then recently launched his own label Denimsmith and Denimsmith's second line Vintage Laundry. I had fun purchasing a couple of pairs while chatting to Hanh in the store, as one of the junior designers in the team, she knew the fabrics, fit and styles inside out. She was awesome. First wear is today for the trip home!
