Sliver Hair Salon

#102 Buy - a fabulous experience at Sliver, my local hair salon. Sliver, as it's a 'sliver of space', was originally the loading dock for the Penrose Department Store, which was on the corner of St Andrew and George St from 1909 to 1995. Sliver is locally owned by Jackie and Steve, they established the business in 2005 and my hairdresser Kylie was there when it first opened. I love that Kylie and Jackie are super involved in the industry, they're often off around NZ and Australia to compete in and judge competitions and learn new techniques. It's always fun to see Kylie experimenting with her own hair and she does a brilliant job with my crazy mane. To sit and relax in their comfy white chairs, drink tea, catch up on the latest magazines, chat and leave feeling quite glamorous, it's truly a treat.
