#122 Buy - the specialised skills of Mooneys Furriers. We're so lucky to have this craftsmanship available to us, one of very few businesses in New Zealand still offering this service. Mooneys Furriers was originally established in the 1920s in Dunedin. It is locally owned by Max and Heather having bought the business in 1998 after working for Mooneys for many years. Originally the main focus for the business was making fur coats and jackets (which they still do), but now more time is spent on furnishings, trims for academic gowns and repairing and remodelling vintage coats. They use rabbit and possum furs and they also work with local designers to create beautiful products. Today I collected my vintage rabbit fur cape that they have beautifully repaired for me, I can highly recommend their expertise and they're really lovely people!
