The Merchant of Clyde
#136 Eat - today we popped into The Merchant of Clyde cafe in the historic Olivers for a quick lunch stop on our way home. Originally built by merchant Benjamin Naylor for his general store in 1869, it served those seeking a fortune during the Otago gold rush. The collection of lovely old stone buildings (once Mr Naylor's home, store, stables, a bakery, a smokehouse) have been beautifully restored by local owners Andrea and David in 2015 and now offer accommodation, restaurant, brewery, bakery and cafe. A perfect spot to stop for tasty food in a great space
