Evansdale Cheese

#141 Eat - delicious Farmhouse Brie by Evansdale. Locally owned by the Dennison family, I met son Pablo at the Evansdale factory shop at Hawksbury Village near Karitane. Originally it started when they had a Jersey cow called Maisey who was so full of milk they needed to do something with all the extra! They made their first cheese in 1981 and now the milk comes from the farm next door. The factory shop offers a great selection of cheese and other locally made products and a really friendly Pablo. There is a little museum to learn about the process of cheese making next to the shop. You'll also find them in the caravan at the Otago Farmers Market. The brie is perfect with my home made pinot noir jelly
