Ski Coronet Peak

#148 Do - ski Coronet Peak! After 13cm of fresh snow falling overnight, it was a fun first ski day. Coronet recently celebrated its 70th birthday, having opened as the first commercial ski field in New Zealand in 1947 with one rope tow. It was also the first to introduce night skiing in the 1980s. Locally owned by the Davies family, Coronet Peak is so accessible - an easy road up the mountain and only 25 mins from Queenstown. An extra fun part of the day was doing a free ski tour of the mountain, my friend and I joined Mark and Molly, (tour leaves every day at 11am and 2pm from the main deck) exploring the mountain for about 1.5 hours, taking us to less busy tracks and into slightly deeper new snow - took my quads a lot of getting used to...
