Arrow River Track
#156 Do - walk the Arrow River track from Arrowtown. The Arrow River was originally called Haihainui by the Māori people - meaning big scratches, probably due to the brambles along the banks, and it was a hot spot for gold when a local Māori man, Jack Tewa, discovered gold in the river in 1862. We ventured out on this walk yesterday and it's only about 30 mins to the Norman Smith foot bridge, with stunning views and a beautiful waterfall along the way.
