Leckie's Butchery

#176 Eat - Meat from Leckie's Butchery in Saint Clair. Sandy Leckie opened his butchery in 1927 when (according to family legend) he left the family farm and became a businessman to get the tick of approval from his future mother in law - which he did, and went on to marry Margaret! The business is still locally owned and still in the Leckie family as Sandy's granddaughter Sandra and her husband Grant now own it. I learnt that Leckie's successfully obtained the world record for the largest haggis in 1993! I popped into Leckie's on Thursday (note the lovely sunny day) and picked up my beef cheeks and some frankfurters, such nice staff offering great advice and excellent quality meats. My culinary weekend continues (!) with a delish hot dog in a bun using Leckie's frankfurters for lunch today
