The Ice Cream Gals

#179 Eat - Ice cream that has no melting issues, won't fall off a cone, no brain freeze and can be happily eaten mid-winter! The Ice Cream Gals ice cream is the creation of a group of school girls at Columba College in Dunedin. By removing the moisture out of ice cream (by freeze drying) they have created a light, crunchy, sweet treat that can be eaten anywhere. Coming up with the business plan, logo and product, they won the local Young Enterprise competition and are in the running for the Regional competition. They had their official launch just last month, and while they're in the process of getting their cute product into local stores, keep an eye out for their stall around town (including Marbecks, Golden Centre and at the Roslyn Supermarket where I picked up some hokey pokey and boysenberry!) and they're also online. So clever and yummy!
