Island Park Reserve Beach
#215 Do - on a warm, sunny Dunedin day, I headed for the beach first thing. A favourite trail of mine is parking by the Blackhead Quarry, going along the little path that leads to the beach and jogging along the beach towards Brighton. To the estuary and back is about 5km and it’s beautiful. Isolated (in the hour I saw about 4 people), white sand, sheltered spots along the sand bank for sitting in the coastal sand tussock, it was only 14 degrees but felt about 25 degrees sitting at my turn around point. I sat for a while just pondering and feeling pretty lucky
