Eat Taste Central Otago
#219 Eat - the flavours of Central Otago. For the last month, there has been a fantastic 'Eat.Taste.Central' celebration of local produce and beverages in Central Otago. Many local cafes, restaurants and cellar doors produced a menu item matched with local wines and beers to celebrate local ingredients including Maniototo honey, Central Otago rabbit, lamb, venison, chevon, truffle, fruit and wild thyme. Having just discovered this great promotion (on the last day of Eat.Taste.Central!) we headed to Armando's Kitchen in Cromwell for Gnocchi con Sugo di Agnello alla - Central Otago Style! Central Otago lamb ragu, mushrooms, pancetta, their own grown watercress tips, pecorino cheese and truffle oil = yum. Such a great way to celebrate local!
