Dunedin Rhododendron Dell

#242 Do - explore the tracks in the Rhododendron Dell at the Dunedin Botanic Gardens. With around 2,200 rhododendrons over 4 hectares and many little tracks filled with colour at this time of the year, it’s beautiful. I found the spot where the first rhododendrons were planted by David Tannock in 1914 as a trial, and the site turned out to be ideal. Dunedin's climate, being cool and consistent, is apparently perfect for rhododendrons, and it was fun to get a bit lost in these tracks today.
