Augustines of Central

#247 Buy - Central Otago apricots preserved in a riesling syrup by Augustines of Central. How delicious does this sound?! Made in Wanaka by local chef Gus, he established his business in 2013. Gus grew up in Dunedin eating delicious Central Otago fruit, and it was when he realised canned Central Otago (and NZ) apricots were no longer available to buy, he decided to preserve his own. He uses fruit from an untouched, spray free, orchard near Cromwell. With local fruit and local wine, I think the result sounds divine. I bought these and some of his apricot jam to give to a friend as a gift, but I’ll have to treat myself next trip to Wanaka 🍑
