Juliusspital Würzburg

#254 Eat - a lunch date at Juliusspital, the local hospital. We drove to Würzburg today, the start of the 'Romantic Road'. PJ was a little disappointed on being taken to a hospital on day 2 of his holiday, however came around to the idea on learning the hospital is the biggest individual wine grower in Germany, has a wine cellar under the hospital and a winery next door! Julius Hospital (founded in 1576) is right in the city centre, an impressive baroque building and has a restaurant attached where locals go for its regional dishes. A cosy spot for wine and Fränkischer Sauerbraten (check out the set of potato dumplings!) and PJ has started making his way through the sausages of Germany. We followed this with a stride through the elegant gates to the gardens of the Würzburg Residence, a magnificent palace with beautiful gardens.
