Winter Jog in Leipzig
#272 Do - On our last winter morning in Leipzig, I headed out for a jog. A loop of the city centre and through a local park provided a few reminders of the history of this city. I crossed the road when the green Ampelmännchen indicated it was safe, one of few remaining symbols of communist East Germany. I ran past some lovely old buildings, one of which was the former headquarters of the Stasi, the State Security Service for East Germany from 1950-1990 (while here, it's been fascinating to delve further into the history of East and West). Then to finish with a lap of the local park with a few other keen beans completed an interesting local explore.
