Pixie Town
#279 Do - Check out the Pixie Town display at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum. These mechanical handmade toy displays were an annual Christmas exhibition at the D.I.C department store in Dunedin from 1951 until the early 1990s. Toitū acquired some of the original Pixie Town displays when D.I.C closed and the exhibition has become an annual local Christmas event again since 2004. I popped into Toitū today to check out this Dunedin icon, colourful and fun, the mechanical pixies were fantastic to see.
