Union Co. Cafe Port Chalmers
#317 Eat/Buy/Do - Sit in a fabulous spot in the morning sun for a date scone and a chai latte at Union Co. cafe in Port Chalmers. In what was a cute old corner butcher’s shop from the 1930s, Union Co. opened in December 2015 and is locally owned by Keely and Pete. They have an amazing range of freshly baked goods (can highly recommend their date scone) and I love their homemade chai, which is slightly more savoury, using local Holy Cow milk. Fun to learn that they make coffee standing on the old cellar door, which leads down to where the butcher used to hang his meat.
