Buckland’s Crossing
#319 Do - Buckland’s Crossing while the weather is still warm! It’s about a 30 minute drive north of Dunedin. Just before crossing the Waikouaiti River bridge at Buckland’s Crossing, I found a large swimming hole, a big grassy picnic area and wild berries (are they edible?!). First thing this morning the water was warm (and I’m a total wimp when it comes to cold water), the cicadas and birds were chirping, totally isolated, it was a great place to do some study and enjoy the summer warmth before the storm....
