Lindsay Creek In Bethune’s Gully
#318 Do - Cooling off in the tiniest swimming hole in Lindsay Creek in Bethune’s Gully on a hot Dunedin day. Bliss! We really are having an amazing summer! I found this little spot, really just a paddling pool, with steps leading down to it, just near the carpark. It’s very shallow and beautifully cool, perfect for a quick dip. Bethune’s Gully is named after David Bethune, a Dunedin butcher who bought the land in 1878 and set up a sawmill, a brick making kiln and had cattle. It’s now owned by the Dunedin City Council, and has a picnic area, playground, a track up to Mt Cargill and a tiny swimming hole
