#337 Eat - Glorious greengage plums! So sweet and delicious and their short season is in full swing. I picked up a bag from Te Mahanga Orchard, a third generation family run orchard in Millers Flat, at the Otago Farmers Market yesterday. Apparently this plum is named after Sir William Gage who introduced them into England around 1724 from France, and they grow especially well in New Zealand. I love buying up large, eating them fresh but any that start to turn, de-stone and freeze for on my muesli through winter 👌
