Sutton Salt Lake
#Do - Taste the water at the Sutton Salt Lake! New Zealand’s only inland salt lake that sits on the edge of the Rock and Pillar Range near Middlemarch. It’s an easy stroll through the beautiful tussock and rocky land that leads to the lake. We did the walk on Easter Monday as part of a road trip, it’s only an hour drive to the carpark of the track from Dunedin. I also spotted that the Wild Dunedin Festival is offering a train ride and guided walk around the lake as a day event on the 25th April, which would be a brilliant way to experience it.
