Sawpit Gully

#Do - Sawpit Gully. From the main street of Arrowtown, I headed towards the river and found a trail map for exploring the area. I decided on Sawpit Gully and did the 8km loop anti clockwise. It started off flat and easy along the river, but it did get quite narrow, steep and challenging after the turn off to Sawpit, just before the Norman Spencer bridge. I found the remains of an old stone miners hut and loved the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. It also felt quite adventurous with about 10 easy stream crossings weaving through the gully! It was a fun explore and so close to Arrowtown.
