#Do - As I get very close to arriving home to a chilly Dunedin (which I’m actually really looking forward to 😍), I have a last flurry of local experiences! And one of the highlights.....the simple pleasure of laying in the grass in a Paris park. Locals seem to swarm to the parks, we spotted a kid’s birthday party, couples sharing a bottle of bubbles, groups of friends gathering and those with just a book in the grass. Apparently the word picnic (pique-nique) was invented by the French in 1692 and the city makes the most of their outdoor spaces in summer, armed with their wine, cheese and baguettes. This little park is Places des Vosges, a park where you’re allowed on the grass (not all allow this!), surrounded by beautiful architecture.
