#Do - An early morning jog up to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Sitting on the summit of Montmartre, it’s the highest point in Paris. It requires either many steps (270 I learnt afterwards) or a funicular to reach it. I chose the step option, along with a few locals who were using them for exercise, once was plenty for me! A beautiful building, it was interesting to learn it was completed in 1914, which seems so recent, and that it has the largest mosaic in France on the ceiling at 475sq m. The best part about my 6am outing was the complete lack of crowds, but it also meant it wasn’t open to go right to the top. Apparently just another 300 steps (😪) inside takes you to the top of the Dome, offering panoramic views of the city. Next time....
