The Roxburgh Gorge

The Roxburgh Gorge - a stunning trail along the old bridle path that was used to take coal to the gold mining dredges on the Clutha from the 1890s to the 1930s. About 8km return from Graveyard Gully (Alexandra) to Butchers Point and back, along the river, through the schist and past old stone buildings built into the rock. It was a perfect stop on my way to Central recently and the first of a few local adventures/explores....
