Arrow River Bridges Ride
The Southern Discoveries suspension bridge. I made a dash for the Arrow River Bridges Ride trail yesterday between rain showers for some fresh air and to try to warm up! This wet weather brought a wintery, snowy blast to the mountains around Arrowtown, my base for a few days. I’d not explored this river trail before, which opened in 2012 as part of the NZ Great Rides initiative, offering a scenic off road trail from Arrowtown to the Gibbston Valley. I loved finding this suspension bridge going over the raging Arrow River, which was about 4.5km from Arrowtown. It was a perfect point to turnaround and jog back as the drizzle started again...
