Sweet Sorbet
While it continued to feel like winter out there yesterday, I was excited to find a small reminder of summer deep in my freezer. A sweet tub of yellow plum sorbet from the family owned Waitaki Orchards. The Watt family moved to the Waitaki region in 2003 and bought a fruit orchard just east of Kurow. With their 8 children, they work together to produce a range of products with the fruit they grow, including pies, sorbets and crumbles. Regulars at the Otago Farmers Market, they also have a farm gate shop that is open in summer. So looking forward to summer and all the fresh fruit! 🍒
