When you try someone else’s ‘local’ at the end of the day. A wee shot of traditional Czech Becherovka from the kind Czech backpackers we had helping us build fences yesterday on the farm. Usually consumed as a digestive aid - a shot after a heavy meal, this herbal liquor dates back to 1807 and originates from a spa town, Karlovy Vary, ten minutes drive from the backpackers’ home town of Ostrov. The recipe is a closely guarded secret of herbs and spices that apparently only two employees know. Quite delicious.
