Lilliput Libraries

Holiday reading - I picked up this book from a Lilliput Library while running in Brockville in Dunedin a few months back. Lilliput Libraries, named after Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels, are the cute colourful wooden boxes filled with books dotted around town that welcome you to ‘take a book now and leave a book later’. They were started by a local woman, Ruth Arnison, as a community project. With almost 200 now dotted around neighbourhoods, including some as far north as Whangarei, it’s such a neat concept. I’ll be popping this one back soon, or passing it on - it’s already made me giggle out loud and cry - I love the way it’s written.
