Bach in the Subways by 9 cellists of Dunedin at Toitū (almost subway-like, with the steam locomotive!) on the weekend. Each year to celebrate the birth, life and music of Johann Sebastian Bach (born 21 March 1685) musicians around the world do free concerts, mostly in subways. Started by a cellist in a New York subway, it also celebrates live classical music. I’m a total novice when it comes to knowing Bach from Mozart but love following local musician Heleen Du Plessis for alerts to music events such as this.
