Local walnuts. Usually found tucked amongst a pile of wet leaves on the ground at this time of the year (not ideal apparently, from a mildew perspective, you’re meant to grab them as soon as they drop - which is not really an option as a spontaneous forager) and only a handful at a time, enough to fill my pockets....but thought these looked pretty good having cracked one. This week was another stint in lovely Arrowtown, and as a break from hovering by the fire doing my assignments, I headed out to the tracks around town and kept discovering big old walnut trees. So will attempt to dry them - 6 weeks according to google - for all 12 or so nuts, it’s certainly slow food, and hope they taste good!
