Tiny Ruins last night at the Port Chalmers Town Hall, with Jen Cloher. Amazing! First time for a while I have had a stamp on my hand saying ‘let’s party’ 😂 And my first visit to this lovely old venue - the Port Chalmers Municipal Building, built in 1889. Although my photo doesn’t do any justice to the building (or Tiny Ruins!), it once housed the Customs, Police and Fire Brigade Offices, the Court House, the Town Hall and the Borough Council Chamber and offices, a busy place. And with so many departments involved, apparently there was a ‘protracted period of negotiation over the design’ before building began...
