Touring the Town Belt

The simple pleasure in doing laps around City Rise. Living just under the Town Belt means a short stroll to hit green space. It was interesting to learn from the Dunedin Amenities Society website that there are three Victorian era town belts in the world - Dunedin, Wellington and Adelaide. All three settlements were influenced by Edward Gibbon Wakefield, although he was quite a controversial character, he believed that providing natural areas would alleviate disease, crime and slums. After a couple of weeks inside, it certainly felt so good to get outside🌲🌱🌳🌿
