Luke Jerram’s Moon
Luke Jerram’s moon in Hanover Hall last week as part of the New Zealand International Science Festival. It was mesmerising. He created a 4m diameter moon using images from Nasa of the lunar surface. The moon has been hung from a range of ceilings around the world, including cathedrals, a swimming pool and a ballroom. Loved hearing Tiny Ruins play underneath it, and then listen to readings of moon stories by the University Bookshop under the moon with Jack. The biennial NZ International Science Festival was established in Dunedin in 1996 to inspire, educate and make accessible to all the importance of science in our everyday lives.
