Observations in Maclaggan Street. I loved this old stenciled sign down the side of a building in Maclaggan. It was once a bustling area with multiple hotels, residences, boarding houses and stores mentioned in local papers from the 1850s. The Dunedin Club was founded in 1858 in rented premises in Maclaggan Street. Jack directed me down Maclaggan today, and then sat in his pram and observed the journey back up Clark St and Canongate. I’ve discovered it’s often easier to reverse him up these steep streets…
