Shortcuts of Dunedin. There are many flights of steps around our hilly city, linking the suburbs to the city. They’re extremely convenient, especially when having to carry a little person and his trike. I wish I could find an article that discussed the people and stories behind the construction of them. I did find a great summary (and map) in the ODT by Bruce Munro of ‘Dunedin’s top 10 shortcuts - a guide to the best clever, hidden, forgotten or, in some cases, barely existent paths, steps and tracks in Dunedin.’ Worth checking out. Today our loop was quite late in the day, it took almost all day to convince Jack to get dressed to go outside on such a stunning blue sky day…
