The Dentist
Lockdown loop #6
A very slow jog past a favourite building of mine on George St. Designed by architect Edmund Anscombe in 1909 for new professional rooms and a private residence for Thomas Fogg, a local dentist. Papers Past, the amazing online resource I use, have adverts for his practice that make you feel slightly squeamish about dentistry 100 years ago, such as an advert for ‘single tooth extractions with gas 5s or without for 2s 6d’….
